Virginia “Ginger” Walsh

I am a priest and wedding officiant who creates and facilitates ceremonies that lift the heart and cheer the spirit. I serve Nassau, Suffolk, and NYC.

In 2003, my life journey led me to the community I serve today.  We share the strong belief that you define who your family is.  Rest assured that your spirituality will be respected: non-religious, Christian, interfaith, pagan.

One of the great joys of officiating weddings has been the opportunity to learn about different ways to express spirituality from the couples who honor me with their trust.

Your Wedding, Your Style

You have the right to approach your wedding day with joyful enthusiasm.  If you and your honey are super into a particular detail or style, have fun with it!  People who love you are happy to share your joy, even if they don’t understand exactly why your choices are so important to you.

As your officiant, I have two jobs:  first, to make sure that you are legally wed by the end of the ceremony, and second, to help turn your dream ceremony into a reality.   (If that involves learning a few words of Klingon, you got it.)

A Joyful Ceremony for Your Joyful Day!

My goal is to be a loving and affirming presence for people seeking an officiant for their wedding or another life transition event. It would be an honor and a delight to be part of your joyful day!

Our Love Story

My amazing husband and I kissed for the first time in the Hall of Gems at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. We were surrounded by sparkling emeralds, some of the most gorgeous gemstones in the world. Dave proposed a year later in the same spot, and (this is totally true!) we planned the wedding in about four months. We were incredibly blessed by our two wedding officiants and would love to pass the blessing forward to YOU.

When we were dating, Dave owned a tabletop game store.  At Game Master Games, he welcomed thousands of people every year to learn and play all kinds of tabletop games (no screens!).  In other words, our guests interacted with each other face to face, making friends and building community.

We still run gaming events for the community.  Our guests bring enthusiasm, intelligence and joy to their favorite games and hobbies.  They enrich my priesthood and my life.

They also demonstrate how people have the right to be super-passionate about things that are important to them, like their wedding ceremony.

Most couples opt for a traditional wedding, because traditions carry so much meaning for us.  Your wedding will always be unique because you are unique as individuals and because your love story is unique.

Your wedding will be beautiful because your love for one another is beautiful.

So relax and savor this unique season in your life, with all of its fun moments and all of its stress.  No matter what else may seem to go wrong, at the end of your wedding day, you will be married.  And that is the reason to celebrate!
